Icon of the Seas RCC – Project Focus

This month we focus on some of the customised elements designed and fabricated specifically for the Royal Caribbean’s cruise ship ‘Icon of the Seas’ adding a unique touch to its distinctive features.

Firstly, this large-scale flamingo sculpture was engineered and fabricated for the ship’s outdoor Central Park deck. Crafted in our workshop using GRP and stainless steel it was installed in Cadiz, Spain in 2024.

Secondly, inspired by the Japanese reverence for the delicate beauty of cherry blossom, the 'Sakura' tree boasts thousands of laser-cut, pressed and anodised aluminium flowers on its chrome-plated bronze framework. The Cherry Blossom tree was cast in bronze in five parts. Each part, along with all the branches, were chrome-plated to achieve a highly corrosion-resistant finish. This work was carried out by our talented MENA team.
